Finally got my zetec install started yesterday :D Was a bit rough & lumpy. Started again this morning after a couple of goes. Runs lumpy on tickover & pops back through no's 3 &4. When I open the throttle it backfires through 3&4 then smooths out.
Question is why is it poping & banging through 3&4 only? And why the lumpy tickover?
Only on edis at the mo & have checked HT lead are on right. Timing was checked double checked before install.
Thanks Mark

What gasket you using between inlet manifold to head mine leaked there so I bought a thicker type from FastDan on here.

Also check around the fluro tubes which connect the carbs to the inlet.

Also if you have had the plastic tops off the carbs to do the jetting if you don't get the rubber seals back in place properly they draw air here as well.

I've had one top off, so will check that its refitted properly.
I've re-checked all the jets for blockages again & checked the fitment of the fluro tubes.
Need to refit back on the car now.

Might need to be balanced. Also check the floats are working as they should be.

Thanks for all your help. Done all of the above & now got the car running on Megajolt. Just need to get it to Boggs for final set-up.
Just one other thing to check is I have a gentle popping coming from carb no.3 at idle. Could this be a sticking valve? If so will it eventually clear its self or do I need to take further action? I'm using 5/30 oil.

Sounds like, your carbs just need setting up.
