Just thought I'd share a deal euro car parts have on, are there any better deals out there? Always thought Brembo would be good quality

MK2 XR2 Brembo brake pads = £20.49 pair
MK2 XR2 Brembo brake disc (£19.99 x 2) = £39.98 pair
Sub total £60.47

Less their current discount code of 20% midmonth20 brings the total down to £48.38

Then less £10 cashback they are currently offering on qualifying purchases of Brembo disc and pads sets comes out at £38.38!

I've not tried it yet hopefully placing an order tonight, the link for the promotion is below.

Just bought a set of mintex discs from an ebay shop for 23 quid! Euros are cheap for pads too but there are some even cheaper options on the bay of E...

After seeing programs like "Rip off Britain" where 'performance' pads are sold on eBay.
They can be either standard pads painted to look like performance pads or even more dangerous inferior quality copies.
I will only buy pads from sellers I know or from a reputable shop or other reputable internet seller.

Just not worth the risk for a couple of quid saving.

Jason.

I phoned euros this morning and the guy said it shouldn't matter if you had a discount code on the order it should still be honoured, just email custservice@eurocarparts.com with your order number and refer to the £10 cashback offer and it should come through, waiting on mine now :cool!:

The discs I bought seem to be the real thing and so did the shop I bought them from. Time will tell if they're any good I guess!

Ones on my car were "red dot" drilled and grooved and they would have been expensive(came with car brand new in box) and they are warped to feck in less than 10,000 miles and had bad vibrations for a long time too Not sure if it's the green stuff pads I used or what but if new discs cure the problem it will be a lot nicer to drive and apply the brakes
Have checked under car a few times as I thought something had come loose !

It'll be the pads. Greenstuff pads (i found) were never any good. Get some OEM Brembo discs and pads on there.

That's the plan Bomber :cool!: although I did like drilled and grooved discs but these fecking vibrations are doing my head in and spoiling the car  I might try and get a dti on there first and see if the discs are actually warped or not as they haven't really seen any abuse .

I'm still running the same ebc dotted and grooved discs and green stuff pads I fitted to the white xr2 I wrote off in 2001.

Brakes are older than my kids!

I just followed the bed in process as I recall.
I keep checking them, but they don't seem to wear down.

I'll admit, there have been years I've only done 500 miles, but others I've used it daily. So 10k..
But they are still good.
:eh:

Been offered a refund and ecp say they cannot supply discs for pre 9/1986 cars as that's when they changed to the wider discs which clearly isn't right :wall:

Yes that about sums it up Jason they think from 1986 the xr2 used sierra discs
Have to say though my brembo pads seem good and the red dot discs may not be fecked after all will give them more miles to bed in first.vibration is much less but still nowhere near right but im thinkingvthat is pad transfer of the green stuff pads needs to wear of...I hope !
