I live in the US and I can only find one brand of tire, Falken 185-60 13", to fit my R/S 13"X6" alloy wheels. I see a lot of you guys have changed your wheels and tires on your MK1 Fiestas. How are you finding the wheels with the correct off-set on a 14" or 15" wheel? Every site I go to they want the make, model, and year in order to sell you a wheel.

What is the best wheel and tires for a MK1 and will it fit in a stock wheel well?

Thanks and I like your site a lot.

I don't care if I can't fit it in the spare wheel area just under the sheet metal.

you can fit 15" wheels under the standard arches but you will need to trim/roll the arch lips. you can go bigger but you will need a lot of arch to do it or a wide arch body kit

For 15's you need 195/45/15 profile Tyres.

For 13's as standard you run 185/60/13, however, you can fit 175/50/13 which is a lot smaller profile (and might be more available?! :? )

As far as offsets, All the front wheel drive fords have the same one I believe! :? I know the PCD is 108, not quite sure on the offset, I think it's et38....but check with someone else to make sure.

I dunno what the other ford fitments are like out there, but over here we can have wheels from pretty much every ford on the road (only having difficulties with wheels from Rear wheel drive cars, and from more modern fords which have different wheel bolts).

How much do you reckon shipping is to the U.s. I'm sure if you hooked us up with some money to cover shipping and buying we could send you out some wheels/tyres etc...

@Pornstarr: The offset is not the same, it depends how wide the wheels are. But you can try. All european 4-hole-Fords need the same wheels (4x108). But you get very different dimensions. You can fit 6x13, 6x14, 6x15 without major problems. All 7x13 and 7x15 and bigger will give you some problems. But they can be solved:

MK1 XR2 with 7x13 ET5 an 175/50 R13:

MK2 XR2 with 7x13 ET5 and 185/60 R13:

MK2 XR2 with 6x14 and 195/45 R14:

All these tires are avialable from most of the tire firms like
Fulda
Semperit
Hankook
Falken
Dunlop
BF Goodrich
Pirelli
Good Year
Bridgestone
Firestone
Uniroyal
Yokohama
Toyo

and so on...

Maybe US customers don't need this tires, but I'm sure you can order all of them in all dimensions! Just ask your local dealer!
