this is wat you need to wire from the 12 pin plug to the car to get it to run

1=brown=earth to body
2=green=rev counter
3=brown=fuel pump relay earth
4=black=4amp ignition live
5=black/red..to..black/green=iscv
6=red=ecu power from battery or fuse box
7=brown/green=not used
8=black/green=iscv ignition live
9=brown/white=temp guage
10=blank
11=blank
12=brown=not used

this is wat i have done to my loom and it runs perfect

above is the way to wire up an si loom you will also need to bypass pats in the usual manner,and sort out a relay for the fuel pump

Ok - im going to be using this guide in the next few days - which is the 12 pin plug? & i presume the colour of the wires are thw wires on the Si engine loom? Also did you keep the plug on the end of the engine loom which connects to the car loom?

Sorry for all the questions but im not ofee with the wiring yet.

Gareth.

the 12 pin plug is the grey plug which i cut from the car loom with about 5"of wire,the wire colurs are on the car side of the loom,the engine side has alot more brown wires

Just another question - Above you have listed the numbers from 1 - 12 and said where they go etc. I presume the pins are numbered on the plug - because if not how do i know (for example) which of the two Brown wires goes where (if you follow me - One Brown goes to earth and the other goes to fuel pump relay earth)

On the Fiesta RS1800 loom there were two brown wires - was just a case of buzzing out which one was the fuel pump earth and tying the other one to ground.

depending on the year an rs1800 could be different,the early ones have external edis whereas the mk3.5 dont

Mine was a 1993 car so I guess that falls into the Mk3 category with external EDIS gear.

Have you also put a relay in as per Ross's wiring diagram as that one shows a "power supply" relay as well.

For the fuel pump relay i presume i can use the one from a fiesta si?

Gareth.

Ok firstly sorry for all the questions but I am stuck! :roll: :x :(

1=brown=earth to body
2=green=rev counter
3=brown=fuel pump relay earth
4=black=4amp ignition live
5=black/red..to..black/green=iscv
6=red=ecu power from battery or fuse box
7=brown/green=not used
8=black/green=iscv ignition live
9=brown/white=temp guage
10=blank
11=blank
12=brown=not used

Ok i can wire in number 1,2 & 9 but the rest im stuck. Firstly where do i wire number 4? :? I know it says 4amp ignition live but where do i find that on my Fiesta? (1985 1.1)

Secondly what relay can i use for the fuel pump? :roll: Does anyone know which one is the fuel pump relay in the fiesta si fuse box? I have the fuse box but i dont know which relay does what and i have no way of finding out.

Numbers 5 & 8 go to the idle speed control valve but again how do i go about connecting them in? Do i snip the wires which currently go to the ISCV or some how splice number 5 & 8 in with the existing two wires going to it?

I think thats it for now if anyone can help i am very very gratefull im close to the end now but i knew the wiring would be the hard part and its got me confused.

Gareth.

all the wires in this list are connected on the car side of the grey plug,,if some could maybe make this a sticky or faq would be a great help as its getting hard to find

just to clarify numbers 5 and 8 must be joined together and then have an ignition live

i thought the si loom was external PATS? does this not mean that the engine loom is PATS free?

yes mate the pats box is external and feed certain wires in the loom without it ,,it wont work,,if you look at the engine loom plug one side has coloured wires where as the other side has mostly brown wires,,

ive sent you a pm how to bypass the pats

Sorry to bump an old thread, just sorting out some of my wiring...

I've got an RS1800 loom, anyone know if this is the same as the fiesta Si?

EDIT: Figured out pin 5 on the car connector is lambada supply.

What does pins 7, 10, 11 + 12 feed? (on the grey car loom connector?) The all have wires going to them, so must be something? Or are they unneccessary? :?

Thanks for any help.
